After a two year break in the 2009 and 2010 contest, San Marino participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany, selecting their entry through an internal selection, organised by the Sanmarinese broadcaster San Marino RTV (SMRTV).
Background
San Marino debuted in the 2008 contest with the band Miodio.[1] They placed last in the semi-final with five points (three from Greece and two from Andorra). After that, San Marino withdrew from the contest in 2009 and 2010.[2][3] In 22 December, SMRTV announced its comeback in the contest.[4]
Internal Selection
SMRTV confirmed on 3 February, that Italian singer Senit would represent San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany in May.[5]
